Danette Smith
Administrative Assistant Danette is the first person you will meet if you go to the office. She’s married to Rick, has two adult children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She worked over 40 years at Federal-Mogul, retiring in November 2016. She continued to do administrative work for K-Force Temp Service and then McIntosh Dental. She started as the administrative assistant at CCUCC on June 7, 2022. She enjoys her position and we love having her here. She’s very capable and can help you with most anything. She has the ability and experience to keep things running smoothly in the office. |
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Tony's’ formal
classical training began at the age of 7. His involvement with music led him to study at Sienna Heights University, concentrating on jazz and classical piano, theory and composition. Along with his studies and as keyboardist & composer for various groups. He also found time to study with Toledo jazz legend Gene Parker. His versatility also earned him an adjunct faculty position at Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Under then departmental head Morrice J. Lawrence Jr., he taught classes in theory and jazz/blues piano. During this time Tony mentored under the remarkable pianist/keyboardist Pittsburgh native, Eddie Russ. Tony has played at various venues in the United States as well as in Japan, the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean Sea. These venues included: A luxury train that traveled between Chicago, Washington DC and New York; Several seasons with the Grand Hotel Orchestra on historic Mackinac Island as a headliner and also as a guest artist accompanying such greats as George Benson, Betty Joplin, John Boutea, The John Pizzarelli Trio, Chick Corea, Herbie Mann, Auturo Sandoval and Straight Ahead; In Japan working for Biwako Kissen Company in Otsu where he performed on the Bianca, a prestigious dinner boat on Lake Biwa; On Disney Cruise Ships in the Caribbean he was a soloist pianist and as leader of jazz quartets; On Royal Caribbean / Celebrity Cruise Ships he performed original and jazz standards while sailing throughout Alaska, Mexico, Caribbean, Baltics, Bahamas and the Mediterranean. Currently Tony is still active in the Michigan music scene and travels throughout the state and nationally performing with various artists from vocalists to instrumentalist. |
